that’s what this image says it is, upon closer inspection it’s a P lymouth body so this might be the Baracuda.

That’s a 3rd Generation F-Body

E-bodies kept getting away with ever-bigger dagmars instead of actual 5 mile bumpers.

I once had a 1980 Challenger, the one that never should have been...

Those are kinda cool actually, but I know dodgeboys get huffy about it. Kind of like the most reliable chevy nova is a corolla.

One of my neighbors growing up had one. I recall the window sticker advertising its MCA-Jet engine - a fire-breathing 105hp 2.6 Mitsu.
If I had one now I’d bring it to a C&C meet and park with the current Challengers just to be a clown.

I can definitely see some Superbird/Daytona influence in the nose design.

Why do you hate america? Japanese Challenger is turning the frogs gay!

It was actually a great car! It was my first car and I beat the snot out of it. It had all kinds of weird Japanese over-engineered bits, like dual swivel reading spot lights. I learned I could stomp on it with a little bit of steering angle and it would do a righteous one wheel burnout. I think I paid $1000 for it and sold it for $1000. And it had a sup er 70s brown plaid interior!

It also lasted longer than the original 77-83.

Yes! Mine had a rectangular MCA-JET sticker in the back window. The engine actually had hemispherical heads, so technically I had a HEMI Challenger! The gauge pod was this really cool deep set circle arrangement with a funky green backlight if I recall correctly. It had no B pillar and you could roll down the back quarter windows. I’d love to see one today - can’t imagine there are many left in any kind of decent condition. The Plymouth Sapporo seemed to be more popular for some reason (at least I recall seeing more of them than the Chally at the time).

Make sure to add a cardboard splitter so you can put a pool noodle on the edge to recreate the shipping protectors they drive around with.

Are we sure the frogs weren’t gay already?

Hey: 105 Hp is almost as much as the 305 V8 in my parents’ ‘77 Caprice.
